Using Vanilla in Savoury Dishes

How to:

Mix together vanilla seeds, olive oil, rosemary, thyme, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Then rub the mixture all over the duck and let it marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight. Before baking, make sure to preheat the oven to 190°C. Roast the duck for 1.5–2 hours, basting occasionally.

 

Vanilla and Orange-Glazed Salmon with Vegetables

Salmon is a healthy, nutritious protein that is usually served as steak or eaten with pasta. Try this flavourful exquisite orange and vanilla glazed salmon with vegetables for your healthy weeknight dinner.

 

How to:

Mix vanilla seeds, orange juice, orange zest, olive oil, honey, mustard, salt, and pepper. Brush over this mixture onto the salmon and leave them to marinate for at least 15 minutes. You can bake this in the oven or over a hot pan with a little bit of olive oil. This salmon is best-served with green vegetables or fresh vinaigrette salad.

 

Vanilla Butter Sauce Shrimp

How to:

Carefully scrape the seeds from a vanilla bean and pour them into softened butter. Heat a skillet over medium heat and allow the vanilla-infused butter to melt. Add minced garlic or garlic powder to the infusion and cook it briefly for 30-45 seconds. Once the sauce is ready, throw in your prawns and cook each side for 2 or 3 minutes until they are beautiful pink.
